Mubadala Energy has been present in Malaysia since 2010. Mubadala Energy is Operator of Block SK 320 with 55 percent working interest, PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd (PETRONAS Carigali) holds 25 percent, and Sarawak Shell Berhad 20 percent interest respectively.
SK 320 – Pegaga Gas Field Development
An exploration drilling campaign in 2013-14 yielded three new, substantial gas discoveries in this block: Pegaga, Sirih, Sintok.
In March 2018, Mubadala Energy and its partners have reached the Final Investment Decision for the Pegaga gas field development in Block SK 320, offshore Malaysia. The Pegaga project holds the record of Malaysia’s biggest roll ups of jacket outer bends.
In April 2020, we safely completed Pegaga’s first offshore transportation and installation of jacket, subsea pipeline and wellhead deck. The project’s development drilling campaign which commenced in June 2020 was concluded in August 2021.
On 30 August 2021, the float-over of the 11,000 metric ton Pegaga Integrated Central Processing Platform (CPP) Process Deck topside onto the eight-legged jacket was safely completed.
Mubadala Energy successfully commenced first gas production from the Pegaga gas field in March 2022 and Pegaga will be a key producing field supplying gas to PETRONAS LNG Complex in Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia.
